Apna Listing Ltd. (“Apna Listing,” “we,” “us”) operates apnalisting.com, a local business directory for British Columbia. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and your rights under Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). What we collect

  • Account information. When you register, we collect your name, email address, and login credentials (stored in hashed form).
  • Listing information. Business contact details submitted by business owners, and business information drawn from verified public or properly licensed sources. Business information is generally not personal information, except where it identifies an individual (for example, a sole proprietor’s name or a home-based business’s address).
  • Claim evidence. When ownership claims open, claimants may provide documents such as a business licence or utility bill. These are stored privately, accessed only for verification, and retained only as long as needed for the claim record.
  • Messages. Emails and form messages you send us, including correction, removal, and review-dispute requests.
  • Technical information. Server logs and cookies needed to run the site securely (sign-in sessions, security and anti-spam tools). We do not use third-party advertising trackers.

How we use it

To operate the directory: publishing and moderating listings, verifying ownership claims, responding to requests, preventing spam and abuse, and keeping the site secure. We do not sell personal information.

Home-based businesses

Listings for home-based businesses are published in service-area form — city and service region, never a residential street address. If your personal address or personal phone number appears on this site in error, contact us and we will suppress it immediately, without requiring proof of ownership or identity documents.

Sharing

We share personal information only with service providers who help operate the site (such as our hosting provider), under safeguards, or where required by law. Claim evidence is never published.

Retention and your rights

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above. You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information at any time via info@apnalisting.com or our privacy request page, and we will respond within the time PIPEDA requires. Account holders can also update their profile information from their account dashboard.

Safeguards

Access to personal information is limited to authorized team members, protected by account access controls, encrypted connections (HTTPS), and anti-spam/anti-abuse tooling.

We may update this policy; the current version will be posted on this page with its date.
